University Campus Energy Master Planning / Energy Audits
Under contract to St. John's University (SJU) and co-funded by NYSERDA PON 3438, ANTARES completed an energy Master Plan (MP) to assist the university further its commitment towards GHG reductions and create a roadmap towards implementation of future energy projects. The MP included benchmarking energy use and GHG emissions, performing an ASHRAE Level 2 energy audit for buildings on the Queens campus (2.3 million square feet), recommendations for energy conservation measures (ECMs), review energy management system (EMS) capabilities and recommend EMS expansion opportunities, review the current sub-metering strategy and recommend modifications as applicable, review energy procurement methods and energy purchase agreements, develop strategies to reduce costs (if applicable) and develop phased approach to implement immediate/short-term payback measures (Phase 1) and longer term/deferred maintenance capital upgrade projects (Phase 2). Concurrent with the energy master planning exercise, ANTARES evaluated potential benefits for incorporating real time energy monitoring to support retro-commissioning (RCx) and compliance with local energy regulations.
